Neurophysiological and behavioural effects of conventional and high definition tDCS

چکیده
Abstract High-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) seems to overcome a drawback of traditional bipolar tDCS: the wide-spread diffusion electric field. Nevertheless, most differences that characterise two techniques are based on mathematical simulations and not real, behavioural neurophysiological, data. The study aims compare widespread tDCS montage (i.e., Conventional with extracephalic return electrode) HD-tDCS, investigating both at level, in terms dexterity performance, neurophysiological as modifications alpha beta power measured EEG. Thirty participants took part three sessions, one for each montage: tDCS, sham. In all conditions, anode was placed over C4, while cathode/s according montage. Effects of High-Definition and Conventional tDCS on Response Inhibition.
BACKGROUND Response inhibition is a critical executive function, enabling the adaptive control of behavior in a changing environment. The inferior frontal cortex (IFC) is considered to be critical for response inhibition, leading researchers to develop transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) montages attempting to target the IFC and improve inhibitory performance. However, conventional t...
متن کاملComparing cortical plasticity induced by conventional and high-definition 4 × 1 ring tDCS: a neurophysiological study.
BACKGROUND Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) induces long-lasting NMDA receptor-dependent cortical plasticity via persistent subthreshold polarization of neuronal membranes. Conventional bipolar tDCS is applied with two large (35 cm(2)) rectangular electrodes, resulting in directional modulation of neuronal excitability. Recently a newly designed 4 × 1 high-definition (HD) tDCS pro...

although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...
